Welcome to the GetID App! This application allows sending your personal information to GetID to carry out the Personal Identity verification process. We process your personal data based on your consent.
We will retain your personal data for 365 calendar days and delete it afterwards.

As we are a legal entity registered in the Republic of Estonia, our personal data processing activities are subject to Estonian laws.

The personal data we process, the purpose and legal basis

We only process the personal data you provide to us yourself while using the application, i.e. your first and last name, nationality, date of birth, sex, photo of your ID-document (including the data therein), and your photo/video. All such data is necessary for the verification process and confirming your identity, your video is needed to confirm liveliness, which is part of the identification process.
We process your personal data, including your biometric data, based on your consent you have provided prior to providing us your personal data and using the demo (GDPR Art 6(1)(a) and GDPR Art 9(2)(a)).
*GDPR is short for EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, which regulates the processing of your personal data.

Automated decision-making

Although the identification process is automated, it does not bring about any legal effects to you or otherwise significantly affect you.
Retaining your personal data and sharing your personal data with third parties
Although we only retain your personal data for 365 calendar days and likely are not able to share your personal data with any third parties, then in principle we may need to share your personal data with third parties if we have a legal obligation to do so (GDPR Art 6(1)(c)). Should you breach our Terms of Use or otherwise infringe our rights, we may retain your personal data for longer and use and share it with third persons to protect our rights, exercise or defense claims, etc. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest to protect our rights and interests, which in such case override your rights and interests (GDPR Art 6(1)(f)), in case of biometric data GDPR Art 9(2)(f).
You may object to our data processing based on our legitimate interests if you find that we process your personal data or parts of your personal data in violation of your rights.
Transferring your personal data outside the EEA
We do not process, including transfer your personal data outside the EEA.
* The EEA means the European Economic Area and includes the EU Member States, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

Your rights

You have all the rights of the data subject stipulated in EU data protection laws, considering the applicable limitations and restrictions therein.
Although we have given all relevant information herein, you may request information about your personal data which we process, as well as submit requests for correcting any of your incorrect personal data.
You may request the deletion or limiting of the processing of your personal data by sending a written request to us over the email: dpo@getid.ee.
You may also object to our data processing based on our legitimate interests if you find that we process your personal data or parts of your personal data in violation of your rights.
You have the right to withdraw your consent provided for any data processing activity at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Your consent may be withdrawn by sending a written request to us over the email: dpo@getid.ee
You have the right to lodge a complaint to Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (www.aki.ee).
